Last Saturday I excitedly woke up at 4am to do the only thing that will allow my lazy body to arise before the afternoon sun hits...
DIVING!
But not just any dive trip for the year, it's a test trip to acclimate the team with some gadgets in order to survive the trip that will occur in about 24 hours... What trip? THE DIVE TRIP of the year!!! Where, you ask? You'll find out soon enough. This day trip was in Anilao.
First off was to get used to the Reef Hooks.
What, you may ask, is a reef hook? Well.. It looks like a giant fishing bait hook, attached to some string. It's main purpose is to, literally, hook yourself down to some coral or rock or sandy bottom in the event a current attacks you underwater. Apparently in the dive site we're heading to, it's survival by hook or by crook. And by crook, it might mean a coast guard finding you in the middle of Davao, where we will NOT be going. Thanks Marco for the Tip!
