My Water Villa at Velassaru Maldives
There is something about being near or by the water that just brings in the calmness. And when you're in Maldives, a country known for its crystal clear waters, there is no excuse. You have to live by the waters.
Must stay when at the Velassaru Maldives is at one of the water villas. If not only for this terrace view, for the actual room accommodations and amenities inside the villa.

Brit Brekkie at Gordon Ramsay at The London, West Hollywood
Especially when this little English bulldog stopper ushers you in? Irresistable.

Gordon Ramsay at The London
At a recent trip to Los Angeles, I somehow had the brekkie bug and found every excuse to eat it. Hence the "Battle of the Breakfast" series on ToT. One of my memorable morning meals was an early start at Gordon Ramsay's signature restaurant for The London West Hollywood.

HK Boutique Chic at Lanson Place Hotel
This is SO Hong Kong.
This, in no way, resembles HK. And that's the way I like it.
On a recent business trip to HK, I convinced the big boss to veer off our normal accommodation in HK, which is The Parklane in Causeway Bay, to stay at one of my favorite boutique hotels: The Lanson Place Hotel

When In Vegas... Go Big or Go Home!
Remember Hangover?
Yep, I was a lucky brat that had a room with THIS view in Vegas.
I had a short business trip to Sin City, and only had one night to stay.

My Favorite Room at Hotel Elizabeth for Sinulog
Pit Senyor!
This is my favorite room at Hotel Elizabeth Cebu: the Junior Suite. Basically it's a big studio with a king bed, arm chair with a floor lamp for reading, a love seat sofa and a foot bench for my purse and clothes. I think I love it more because of the framed photography that's mounted on top of the bed... lol

Sumptous Chinese Spread at Shangri-La's Summer Palace
If you can't go to Hong Kong to get authentic Chinese cuisine, bring Hong Kong to your tummy via Summer Palace, my family's favorite restaurant for fine Chinese food with elegant ambiance. Ever since I was a kid, I remembered celebrating our special occasions at Summer Palace. When I grew up and began working, a lot of our lunches would be dimsum in this much-loved restaurant.
Though we frequent Choi Garden more because it's more relaxed and their Shabu-Shabu menu is fantastic, Summer Palace is the perfect lunch location. Plus all Shangri-La hotels have impeccable Chinese restaurants, and Summer Palace is really in a league of its own.
One of my favorite spots for dining is the Crystal Room, which is right in the center of the restaurant, enclosed by Chinese etched rosewood enveloping diners for more privacy.

Stay at the Hotel Stendhal in Roma
Ahh Roma...
You know you're in Italy when you see a Biglietteria (ticketing) machine with several language selections for the Trenitalia line. If ever you're in Italy, you know the way to go is via train.
Upon arrival from our very long flight and exiting the Roma Fiumicino airport, ToT's travelbuddy, aka Jerico, and I decided to relive our studiare days in Italy. Because we're traveling a day ahead from our very big travel group, we thought that it would be the perfect day trip to take. We felt compelled to scrimp on the small things so we can blow out on the more important aspects of traveling, like lugging 4 pcs of luggage to a train station, then to a cab

Boracay Bound: Astoria Accommodations
People often wonder how it is possible for ToT to find time to travel while working and racketeering at the same time. My secret? Before the New year even begins, I procure the official holiday list for the entire year and start planning my vacations in advance. It helps save on airfare, gives your friends time to be pressures to join, and it maximizes those long weekends that "happen" to creep up too late for plans. This is how I know that Labor Day weekend would be a 3-day travel extravaganza way before anyone else did or before the news announced it, alongside other weekends coming up later in the year. All you need to do is ask your lovely HR lady for a copy of the holiday calendar, and you are now well-prepared for those "last minute" Friday or Monday off.
Destination: Boracay!

Goodie Giveaway #3: The Hotel Elizabeth Experience
THE WINNER HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED BELOW!!!
(scroll down to reveal the winner)
Heading up to the Mountains aka. Baguio again this weekend. Yes, admittedly, for work. But every opportunity to go up is definitely an excuse to be lazy and suck in the natural wonders and great climate that Baguio offers. And the fruit! It's the best place to buy the freshest fruits and veggies! Tagged as the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio is indeed a cool climate getaway from the heat of the summer Manila sun.
I especially love all those canned preserves and attempts at Strawberry wine. Uber sweet, but so heartwarming.

Hong Kong Honeymoon
Let me tell you, Hong Kong can make you do crazy things. The food begs you to eat a lot. The sales lure you to shop a lot. The streets ensure you will walk a lot... speaking of walking... HK also made me sleep walk. More on that later.
My trip started with my shuttle ride to Park Lane hotel with a tornado hanging over our heads. RAIN!
As a birthday gift to myself, (aside from my Muse ii and my Tubbataha trip) I met up with my Santa Monica roommate in HK while her fam flew in from Jakarta. Well, that and the underwater cam case purchase that made me trek to the HK ghetto aka talahib (grassfields).
My very first meal while waiting for roomie's arrival was from a random sushi place atop the AMC movie theater in Causeway Bay. I was unsure what I was hungry for so I headed to the nearest resto from the hotel... Talk about a gem of a find; in that resto-that-will-remain-nameless I taste the most amazing shake (salmon) sushi which melts in your mouth with perfect oiliness.
