Singapore Airlines & My Passport Fiasco

For those who have been reading my Twitter feed yesterday, many of you know the harrowing experience I went through involving Singapore Airlines and my passport. Though I'm sitting pretty at the Singapore Airlines lounge now at NAIA1, I can't help but get minor anxiety attacks when my mind looks back at (literally) yesterday's events and how one mishap can ruin a person's excitement and demeanor completely. I didn't get a single wink of sleep last night even if I was so exhausted from what transpired...

Let's Improve the 'Worst Airport In The World'... Pro Bono

I am amazed that our talented designers and architect are willing to earn nothing for the benefit of our country and our tourists.

Will our government do the same? Will they forego money in their pockets to actually make our lives easier, our international image better, and our tourism bigger?
"A pro-bono proposal from Budji Layug, Royal Pineda and Kenneth Cobonpue in cooperation with the National Competitiveness Council of the Philippines.

Its time someone did something about the worst airport in the world. So we made this design because we believe that no matter how beautiful our country is, our airports give the first and last impressions. This plan is relatively inexpensive and simple to adapt. The plan also involves renovating the interiors to allow faster flow of travelers between security, immigration and departure.

The first step has been done. Lets hope our government moves on this proposal quickly."

RE:        Formal Complaint Addressed to Supervisor Robert Perez on The Handling of   Cancelled Flight # 2P 930

To Whom It May Concern

I would like to launch a formal complaint regarding the handling of AirPhil Express cancelled flight 2P 930 to Cebu from Manila earlier today. I am copy furnishing some of my co-passengers in this e-mail as this incident not only inconvenienced the undersigned, but over 100 passengers of the cancelled flight. As I write this complaint, beginning at 10:34am, I have now been at the airport since 5:00am, first at NAIA3 then to NAIA2. We have not been given food nor water since then, as there are no food kiosks in the check-in area of NAIA2.

I apologize in advance for the lengthy nature of this letter, but since I have been made to wait over 9 hours , I believe your company can afford me a few minutes of your busy corporate time to read through my complaint and weigh if reading such a long letter is more of an inconvenience over waiting at the airport for almost 10 hours with no guarantee of departure.

Let me begin with a detailed incident report on the occurrences that have transpired since 5am:

Yummy Ya Kun Kaya Toast for Takeout

Now that I've begun to fly PAL to Cebu rather than Cebu Pac, I've found my new brekkie go-to at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 (PAL), which I absolutely love because I've always wanted to try ever since my friend Manila Boy raved about it.
Ya Kun Kaya Toast
Originating in 1944 in Singapore as the establishment for Coffee & Kaya, Ya Kun Kaya now has several stores in Manila. Might be too simple for the Filipino mindset when it comes to the "breakfast meal," but it is certainly one of the best. I ordered breakfast #1 and boarded my plane.

Expressamente by Illy in T3!

Waking up at 4am is a total drag. Waking up at 4am to get to a 620a flight is just plain mean, unless it is a trip that involves diving. That's what I've been doing every two weeks, is get up before the crack of dawn to do a day business trip to Cebu and then come home after about 14 hours.
Usually I take Cebu Pacific for local because of their hard to beat prices. But the crap part is the limitations of food options, especially for breakfast, at the Terminal 3, or T3, NAIA airport. Well, almost all the airports here have limited selection so I shouldn't bitch. I almost always end up at the Jamaican Pattie stand because a spicy meat pattie is the only thing that can wake up my sleepy self at that time.
Until I spotted this, an Espressamente cafe stand by Illy!
